Registration, Tuition, and Studio Policies

Registering for dance classes is the first step in securing your dancer’s place for the season. Our online registration portal allows families to select classes, review tuition and policies, and complete payment details all in one place.

If you have questions before registering, many common answers can be found below. Families are also welcome to contact the studio for additional guidance.

Tuition Details

Tuition varies based on the number of classes and programs a dancer is enrolled in. Full tuition details are provided during the registration process so families can review costs before completing registration.

Payment Types & Schedule

We accept e-transfers or cheques as payment methods.  E-transfers should be sent to info@foreverdancerosetown.com. GST is included in all dance tuition.

Payments can be made:

  • Monthly - Received on the 1st of each month (Sept-May)

  • Every 3 Months - Payments must be received Sept. 1st, Dec 1st, and March 1st

  • Annually - Payment for the full year’s tuition received Sept 1st (this option receives a 2% discount)

Studio Policies

  • Solos, duets, and trios are optional but strongly encouraged, as they provide dancers with additional training and valuable stage experience.

    • A sign-up form for solos, duets, and trios will be emailed in mid-September.

    • Dancers may work with a Forever Dance instructor of their choice. Instructors will get to know dancers during the first few weeks of classes before choreography begins.

    • Each dancer is different. Choreography, cleaning, and rehearsal typically require 3 to 4 one-hour sessions per routine.

    • Dancers must be 6 years old by December 31, 2024 and enrolled in weekly classes of the same genre at Forever Dance.

  • Dancers wishing to perform choreography created outside of Forever Dance must receive permission from the studio director.

    • Dancers may have one outside-choreographed routine in one genre.

    • A minimum of 4.5 hours of rehearsal with a Forever Dance instructor is required for each outside routine.

    • Dancers must also have at least one solo, duet, or trio choreographed by a Forever Dance instructor.

    • Fee structures, schedules, and additional details for outside choreography are available through the studio director.

  • To support proper technique and safe progression, certain classes are mandatory:

    • Stretch/Progressions is required for dancers 10 years and older who are enrolled in ballet, pre-pointe, jazz, contemporary, modern, or lyrical.

    • Ballet is required for dancers 7 years and older who are enrolled in jazz, pointe, pre-pointe, modern, contemporary, or lyrical.

  • All dancers will require a costume for the year-end recital held in May.

    • Costume prices typically range from $90 to $120, depending on design and exchange rates.

    • Teachers design costumes and make every effort to keep costs reasonable.

    • A detailed balance notice, including any required props, will be emailed closer to the competition or recital.

    • The studio purchases all costume materials. However, Forever Dance is not responsible for items lost or stolen once costumes are sent home.

    • Families are responsible for shoes, tights, undergarments, hair accessories, makeup, and related items.

    • A $85 costume deposit per class is due by October 1st.

    • Costumes and materials are ordered on October 15th.

    • Deposits are non-refundable once costumes or materials have been purchased.

    • Costumes will not be released until paid in full. No exceptions.

  • Written/emailed notice of withdrawal must be received one full calendar month before cancelling classes.

    • Full refunds are available with notice before October 1st.

    • Half refunds are available with notice before January 1st.

    • No refunds are issued after January 1st.

    • No refunds are given for partially attended months.

    If financial difficulties arise, families are encouraged to contact the studio director to discuss payment arrangements.

  • Regular attendance is important for individual and group progress.

    • Dancers who miss multiple classes (three or more) for health or personal reasons are required to book a private lesson to catch up.

    • Please arrive on time or early. Late arrivals disrupt class instruction.

    • No refunds are provided for missed classes, though make-up opportunities may be available.

    If a dancer will be absent, please notify the studio by email or through the class WhatsApp group. Planned absences or holidays should also be communicated in advance.

  • Our studio is NUT-FREE due to allergies.

    • No food, gum, or candy is permitted in the studio.

    • Food may be eaten in the change room as long as it is mess-free.

    • Please respect the church facility by cleaning up after yourself.

    • Dressing rooms must be kept clean and tidy, and all garbage must be disposed of properly.

    • No outdoor footwear in the dance studio.

    • No tapping in dressing room areas.

    • Students are not permitted on stage.

    • Noise should be kept to a minimum, and running through the church is not permitted.

  • Respectful behaviour is expected at all times.

    • Students must be respectful toward instructors, fellow dancers, the facility, and other tenants.

    • Behaviour issues will be addressed internally first. If needed, parents will be contacted and a meeting arranged.

    • Disruptive behaviour, repeated issues, or conduct that harms the studio’s reputation may result in dismissal from the studio.

  • Competition participation is required for dancers ages 5 and up.

    • All group choreography is taught during regular class time.

    • Additional rehearsals may be scheduled if needed and may include additional fees.

    • Competition groups, solos, duets, and trios are adjudicated for marks. The focus is on effort and growth rather than placement.

    • Full attendance at regular classes and rehearsals is mandatory for competitive dancers.

    Competition information and fees are shared in October, with commitments required by the end of the month. Competition fees are due in November and December.

  • All students participate in the year-end recital held in May at Rosetown Civic Centre.

    • Each class performs one routine, except for stretch classes.

    • Dress rehearsals take place during the school day, and students may need to miss school.

    • Dancers enter free; tickets are sold at the door.

  • Forever Dance maintains a zero-tolerance policy.

    • Theft by a student results in immediate dismissal.

    • Parents involved in theft will be banned from the studio and productions.

    • Possession or use of illegal drugs on the premises will result in immediate dismissal and may involve law enforcement.

    • Alcohol impairment by students or parents on studio premises will result in dismissal and may involve law enforcement if safety is at risk.

  • Placement is flexible. Instructors consider both age and experience to ensure dancers feel comfortable and appropriately challenged.

  • Yes. Some styles require dancers to be enrolled in ballet and/or stretch classes to support safe technique and progression. Prerequisites are listed on individual class pages.

  • Ballet and stretch help dancers develop alignment, strength, and flexibility, which support other dance styles and help reduce the risk of injury.

  • Basic footwear is recommended, but families will receive guidance on required shoes and timing after registration.

  • Dancers should arrive dressed according to the studio dress code, with hair secured and a water bottle for class.

  • Competitive programs include additional training, rehearsals, and competitions. Recreational programs focus on learning and enjoyment without competition.

  • No. Competition is optional for many programs. Required competition expectations apply only to dancers enrolled in competitive programs.

  • Yes. Recreational dancers may have opportunities to perform in the year-end recital.

  • No. Solos, duets, and trios are optional but encouraged for dancers who want additional training and stage experience.

  • Sign-up information is typically emailed to families in mid-September.

  • Missed classes are not refunded. If multiple classes are missed, a private lesson may be required to help the dancer catch up.
