Ballet Classes
Where Strong and Confident Movement Begins
Ballet provides dancers with a clear starting point by introducing technique, alignment, and movement principles that carry over into many other styles. Through regular practice, dancers develop posture, balance, and control while learning how movement connects to music.
At Forever Dance, ballet classes are taught in a calm, welcoming setting where certified instructors guide technique step by step, helping dancers build strong habits and progress at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive.
What Your Dancer Will Learn in Class
Ballet classes focus on a structured set of movements and positions that develop control, clarity, and expressive movement. Classes are taught to classical music and emphasize safe technique, proper alignment, and steady progression.
Rather than rushing skills, dancers are given time to understand how movements work and how they should feel in the body. This approach helps dancers move with confidence and prepares them for more advanced training in ballet and other styles.
Through ballet training, dancers develop:
Strong posture and precise body alignment
Balance, coordination, and flexibility
Controlled strength and movement quality
Musicality and rhythm awareness
Familiarity with ballet terminology used across many dance styles
Class Levels and Age Groups
Our ballet program is designed to support dancers at every stage, with clear age groupings and expectations that encourage healthy development and consistent progress.
Beginner Ballet (Ages 5–6)
Beginner ballet introduces young dancers to the basics of ballet in a warm, encouraging environment. Dancers learn simple positions and movements while improving coordination, focus, and comfort in the classroom.
While classes remain fun and engaging, early ballet technique begins laying the groundwork for junior-level training.
Junior Ballet (Ages 7–10)
In Junior Ballet, dancers review and build on essential arm and foot positions while developing greater body awareness. Classes include a variety of activities that support balance, posture, and controlled movement.
We encourage dancers to move with purpose as they build their technique and confidence. This helps them get ready for higher-level classes and, if they choose, adjudicated exams.
Intermediate (Ages 11–13) and Senior Ballet (Ages 14–18)
As dancers progress, ballet classes place greater focus on precision, strength, and consistency. These levels continue to reinforce proper alignment and musicality while preparing dancers for higher-level technique, complementary styles, and optional exam pathways.
Ballet Exams and Skill Progression
Ballet training at Forever Dance supports optional dance exams for dancers who are ready and interested. Exams offer clear learning benchmarks and help dancers work toward specific technical goals throughout the season.
Preparing for exams can help dancers:
Build focus and self-discipline
Strengthen technique through structured learning
Gain confidence through individual feedback
Exams are completed one-on-one with a trained adjudicator.. Participation is guided by instructor recommendation, ensuring each dancer feels prepared and supported throughout the process.

Appropriate attire allows dancers to move safely while helping instructors clearly see alignment and technique during class.
Dancers are expected to follow the studio dress code. General attire expectations for this class include:
A fitted leotard
Ballet tights
Ballet slippers
Hair neatly secured in a bun
For full details on required attire and footwear by class, please review our studio dress code.
